Test Automation Expert Level
(60 hours)
Test Automation Certification Training course consists of 6 sections. Each of the sections focuses on one of the advanced concepts in Test Automation with Test Suite and consists of 10 – 20 expert-level questions. Each section contains several theoretical questions, one test automation assignment, and number of practical questions. Entire course covers 90 questions and about 15 expert-level topics.
Upon completion of this course, students will gain expert knowledge of Test Suite and should be ready to successfully complete Certified Product Specialist (CPS) exam.
Section 1. Test Suite configuration and customization.
- WinRunner / TestDirector connectivity
- Understanding WinRunner configuration
- Working with custom GUI objects
- Advanced techniques for start-up test
- Working with GUI map files from within a test script
Section 2. Working with non-standard objects.
- Configuring GUI map to work with custom objects
- Advanced techniques for data-driven tests
- Working with WinRunner add-ins
Section 3. Setting up testing environment.
- Advanced techniques for user-defined functions and function libraries
- Advanced techniques for Function Generator
- Working with ActiveX objects
- Preparing testing environment from initialization script
Section 4. Working in analog mode.
- Understanding analog recording and playback
- Creating reliable test scripts in analog mode
- Advanced verification techniques
Section 5. Customizing GUI checkpoints and working with Windows API.
- Advanced techniques for GUI checkpoints
- Creating custom checks for GUI checkpoints
- Using Windows API functions to manipulate windows from WinRunner
Section 6. Modifying testing environment from within a script.
- Working with WinRunner and system variables
- Dynamic configuration and customization of GUI map files
- Exception handling
