Q. Do we need project management?
A. If we want to manage our project more efficiently, obtain
higher ROI, utilize resource and increase productivity then we need
project management. Whether you manage projects in the field of
Information Technology or Health Care industry, your project
management skills will have a great impact on the project’s
outcomes. In today’s global work environment, with carefully defined
budgets and tense schedules, having project management skills is a
critical value for a project’s success. The concept behind Project
Management is being applied in such diverse industries and
organizations as manufacturing, DoD, construction, pharmaceuticals,

following decades.
Q. What is the career path for a project manager?
A. Project manager is recruited from team lead or senior
engineering position. It requires combinations of technical,
business and management skills. Some industries requires project
managers with strong business/management skills and others my
require project managers with strong technical skills. Successful
project managers are usually promoted into director or vice
president position.

- If you meet requirements you should be able to take either CompTIA
Project Management IT+ Certification or PMP Certification
Q. What types of certifications are available?
A. Currently there are two project management certifications
that can be taken: PMP Certification, which is the world standard
certification established by Project Management Institute and IT
Project +TM Comitia Certification. The PMP Certification is designed
for project managers with over 7,500 hours of hands-on experience,
while IT Project +TM CompTIA Certification is designed for IT
professionals with over 1 year of IT experience.
Q. What is PMI?
A. PMI stands for Project Management Institute, a leading
organization in the field of project management, which designed
PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) manual. The PMBOK is
used as a standard by project management practitioners throughout
the world.
Q. What is MS Project?
A. Microsoft Project is a leading application in the field of
project management. It offers features for scheduling, tracking,
monitoring and reporting activities within multi project
environment. Training program covers deployment and administration
of MS Project, as well as utilization of it.
Q. What are the requirements for IT Project + certificate”?
A. There is no requirements to take exam and become IT
Project + certified.
Q. Do I need to renew my IT Project + certificate?
A. No. It is a lifetime certificate.
Q. How much does a COMPtia certificate exam cost?
A. Depending on country where you take exam and your
membership status.
Q What is the format of the IT Project + exam?
A. Currently there are 84 questions that need to be done in
120 minutes period.
Q. Does this certificate bring any competitive advantage to me?
A. Yes. It is well accepted by IT and other industries.
Project Management Institute (PMI®) is a world leading project
management organization with over 50,000 professionals as a
certified member. Its standard is accepted and recognized within
many industries. Currently, PMI offers two certificates:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
The best project managers, proven with their experience (over 7,500
hours of “hands-on” work as project manager), are eligible to take
PMP Certification exam and obtain globally accepted and recognized

point out areas that you should study for the PMP exam. For more

Q. What are the requirements for PMP certificate”?
A. There are two categories for PMP certificate. For category
1, to be qualified for a PMP exam, you must provide proof to PMI
that you have a baccalaureate degree and at least 4,500 hours of a
project management expertise. For category 2, to be qualified for a
PMP exam, you must provide proof that you hold at least high-school
diploma or equivalent and at least 7,500 hours of project management
experience.
Q. Do I need to renew my PMP certificate?
A. After you receive PMP certificate, you must continue your
work in the field of project management and report professional
development units (PDU) every year to PMI. You must collect 60 PDUs

Q. How much does a PMP certificate exam cost?
A. It is a $405 for members and $550 for non members.
Q What is the format of the PMP exam?
A. Currently there are 200 questions that need to be done in
240 minutes period.
Q. Does this certificate bring any competitive advantage to me?
A. Yes. It is well accepted worldwide. CAPM allows the
candidates with less experience in project management to obtain
proof that they have fundamental project management knowledge.
Q. What are the requirements for PMP certificate”?
A. There are two categories for CAPM certificate. For
category 1, to be qualified for a CAPM exam, you must provide proof
to PMI that you have a baccalaureate degree, at least 1,500 hours of
a project management expertise and at least two years of project
management experience. For category 2, to be qualified for a CAPM
exam, you must provide proof that you hold at least 2,500 hours of a
project management expertise and at least two years of project
management experience.
Q. Do I need to renew my CAPM certificate?
A. After you receive CAPM certificate, you must continue your
work in the field of project management and report professional
development units (PDU) every year to PMI. You must collect 60 PDUs

Q. How much does a PMP certificate exam cost?
A. It is a $225 for members and $300 for non members.
Q. What is the format of the CAPM exam?
A. Currently there are 150 questions that need to be done in
180 minutes period.
